Gentry Park Orlando is the result of an independent partnership between owner Mizak and manager Life Care Services®, an LCS® company. Mizak was founded by a group of seasoned real estate and banking professionals with long and successful track records—including the development of a substantial number of senior living communities. They’ve brought all of that knowledge to bear in the development of Gentry Park Orlando.

Gentry Park Orlando is managed by industry leader Life Care Services®, An LCS® Company, which was established in 1971 and is based in Des Moines, Iowa. Life Care Services provides operations management, marketing, and sales management for not-for-profit and for-profit continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), independent living and stand-alone assisted living, memory care, and rental communities nationwide.

Jack Barnes

Executive Director

Jack’s career represents a 33-year commitment to serving seniors in five states (North Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, Illinois and Florida). He has held multiple leadership roles including director positions in both corporate environments and in Health Care, including more than 16 years with Life Care Services. Jack’s passion has not changed since he began his career, which is to “provide outstanding quality of care and services to a generation that deserves the best that one can offer.”His goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of all those he may be honored to serve.

Nora Diaz, RN

Director of Health Services

A Registered Nurse (RN) with more than 20 years of experience in health care, Nora has dedicated her career to working with seniors. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and completed her residency program in a hospital intensive care unit in Florida before taking her first position with an assisted living community. Nora also worked in home health care before joining Gentry Park Orlando. Her proven experience and love for working with seniors and families makes Nora perfect for Gentry Park Orlando.

Kari Batey

Business Office Manager

Kari has been in the office management field for over 35 years, performing all aspects of accounting, payroll and human resources. Her experiences include industries such as manufacturing, logistics and small family-owned businesses. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois where she met her husband Mike and the two moved to Florida in 1997 to be closer to his family. In 2014 she was informed her mother was diagnosed with dementia and could  no longer live alone. Kari brings a personal understanding and compassion for the family members that are facing challenges of Alzheimer’s and dementia and looks forward to working with all residents and their families.

Lisa Kaplan

Director of Marketing

Lisa is most probably the first person you’ll meet at Gentry Park Orlando. Prior to coming here, she held a similar position at another Orlando assisted living and memory care community. Lisa has a deep understanding of the needs of individuals who require help with the activities of daily life and those with memory loss. Just as importantly, she understands the concerns of family members and can answer their questions and help them with the admissions process.

Sarah Krattinger

Director of Life Enrichment

Sarah believes it’s been her calling to work with our older population since she was a child. With 18 years of experience and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the first college in the nation to offer a degree in Gerontology, the University of South Florida, Tampa, it’s safe to say our residents and staff are very glad to have Sarah at Gentry Park Orlando. Prior to joining the team as Director of Life Enrichment, she served in many leadership roles, including administrator of an assisted living community and director of social services for a skilled nursing community.

Patricia Washuta

Executive Chef and Certified Dietary Manager

Chef Washuta graduated summa cum laude from the Culinary Arts Institute, Le Cordon Bleu program. For ten years, she was a member of the culinary team at Walt Disney World, creating her own brand of magic for guests with special dietary needs. She has particular experience creating recipes designed to combat the acceleration of memory disorders. Chef Washuta’s menus are as much about exceptional taste as they are about exceptional nutrition: her recipes have been featured in Food and Wine® Cookbooks and Disney press events.

Russ Wager

Director of Plant Operations

Russ ensures a safe, clean, comfortable environment for residents, their families and Gentry Park Orlando staff, but he does much more as our Director of Plant Operations. He joined our leadership team with an outgoing, “can-do” personality and more than 20 years’ experience beginning with service as a mechanical engineer with the Marines Corps. He also served as a maintenance tech, maintenance director, and director of plant operations in senior living and behavioral health settings before joining Gentry Park Orlando.
